Our Summer 2016 updates are now available on the App Store. We updated MindNode for Mac, iOS and Apple Watch with many new features and enhancements.
When we shipped task support in MindNode earlier this year, we had no idea how popular this feature would become. Today we are improving this feature by enabling you to easily share your tasks.
Using MindNode for Mac you can send your task directly to Cultured Code’s Things. Just select “Export to Things” from the share menu and all your tasks will be exported to a new Things project.
MindNode also integrates with OmniGroup’s OmniFocus on Mac and iOS. Select “Export to OmniFocus” from the OS X or iOS share menu and MindNode will export all your tasks to OmniFocus’ Inbox. Tasks maintain their title, notes and their hierarchical order.
TaskPaper, OPML & MindManager Tasks
Using MindNode for Mac or iOS you can now also import and export TaskPaper documents. We also improved MindManager and OPML import/export to fully support tasks.
Another major focus area of this release is Accessibility support. Navigate the app with VoiceOver, bold text, reduced transparency and reduced motion enabled. We plan to publish a dedicated blog post detailing all Accessibility changes early next week.
MindNode for Apple Watch
MindNode for Apple Watch was completely rewritten to take full advantage of watchOS 2. Recent documents can be opened on Apple Watch without a connected iPhone. And you can switch to an “open task only” mode to quickly glance at your open tasks.
This release contains a lot of fixes and enhancements which we all list in our detailed release notes. To conclude this post I just want to point out some of my favorites:
- Colors: The color picker was updated to provide a better suggestion for releated colors
- Markdown: MindNode can now import Markdown documents
- Sorting: The Mac version now supports alphabetical sorting of child nodes (Node > Sort > Sort Child Node Alphabetically)
- Consistency: Interface description and shortcuts are now consistent across both platforms
